The CIRI, Centre International de Recherche en Infectiologie (https://ciri.ens-
lyon.fr), is a public research institute in Lyon, one of the most dynamic capital cities in
France and a gateway to the Alps. The CIRI brings together more than 380
collaborators dispatched in Virology, Bacteriology and Immunology Divisions.
The Immunology Division includes 14 research groups specialized in innate or
adaptive immune responses against various pathogens and cancers. Dysregulations
of the immune response, including allergic reactions, autoimmunity and inflammatory
diseases, as well as immunological reactions against transplanted organs are also
among our research topics. CIRI teams develop basic immunology projects thanks to
a large panel of top-notch platforms, but also translational research programs in
collaboration with clinicians at the Lyon University Hospital (HCL) federated under the
Lyon Immunopathology Federation (Life), or at the Saint-Etienne University hospital.
We are seeking a group leader in Immunology, ideally with expertise in adaptive
immunity or vaccine design, with an outstanding track record. The CIRI is committed
to equal opportunities and is particularly interested in receiving applications from
diverse scientists for this group leader position. Applicants can be of any nationality.
The selected candidate will benefit from office and laboratory space as well as access
to on-site state-of-the-art core facilities (flow cytometry, imaging, immunomonitoring,

Particular attention will be paid to candidates eligible for start-up programs such as
